Training Camps And the Draft

Training Camps and the Draft

Dauntless Athletic League Teams are generally able to conduct a pre-season training camp games before the start of the season. The primary exception being the league champion who is too busy on their victory tour, visiting kings and queens and finding inventive ways to use the trophy as was not intended. Training camps allows players to heal up from any nicks and bruises from last season and occasionally helps a player or two improve their skills. Playoff teams have a little less time than non-playoff teams to conduct training camps, so theirs are generally less effective. (This includes coaches who were in the playoffs the prior season, even if they are changing teams). Training camp games are matches vs the league owned "training camp" team, that qualified coaches schedule matches against in the "Training Camp" competition at the end of the regular season. The "training camp" team always concedes, allowing the league teams to benefit with double the income and MVPs from their training camp game.

In addition to the additional star player points from games and extra cash offered to the bottom finishers of the league each season, all teams will be allowed to hire recruit "Draft Picks" from another allowed race (as able per the Mixed race team rules.)

The Coaches may hire any positional from any race that shares and alliance for their chosen team, without abiding by the "Team Rights" rule. The team must still abide by the "Foreign Player Cap" which limits the combined team value of the foreign players each season.

This is a one time hire and the player cannot be replaced upon firing, injuring or death, and follows the rules in the pursuit of players rights still requiring a trade during free agency with another team.

The draft however will allow players drafted to not be limited by the "Positional Cap" from any team as the players drafted have never technically been apart of another team (coming from the "College" ranks.)

That said, teams with multiple draft picks may not draft the same positional twice in one post season.
