Joining the Dauntless Athletic League

The Dauntless Athletic League will be composed of coaches from no less than 8 table top leagues. So while joining the DAL is usually as easy as creating a team and submitting it; the inaugural season will work out a seeding formula to ensure all the new coaches are matched up in even divisions, and have competitive fun games based on experience level, location of the coaches and team selection.

1. Creating a team

The Dauntless Athletic League will be unlike most leagues in regards to team selection. While the single Team Roster selection per coach will still be enforced; all teams will be may from the selection of Blood Bowl 2 Legendary Expansion's "Mixed Teams" feature, which will allow coaches to potentially trade and draft players of other races to their team during the Free Agency periods of the Dauntless Athletic League's calendar.

Just remember however; newly created teams; while created under the guise of one of the mixed race team options, still must wholly be created from a single roster. The Mixed Race options will be used to add layers of management and franchise strategy to the league; rather than allowing the coaches to create super powered uber teams for seasonal play. These restrictions we believe are fair and and more options to the DAL without opening the floodgates to complete Min/Maxing chaos on league rosters.

(Example: a coach creates a human team under the "Alliance of Goodness" and during both team creation and when buying players mid-season; the coach must still stick to the Team Roster limitations as would a typical human roster. HOWEVER in the Free Agency period, that coach may trade or purchase any player types from the four other races that are composed of the Alliance of Goodness (Bretonnians, Dwarfs, Halflings and Wood Elves) provided another coach in the league piloting the team in question would like to trade. Please see the "Free Agency" Section for details.)

2. Standard Team or Mixed?

As stated previously, both Mixed teams and Standard teams are allowed in the Dauntless Blood Bowl League. Their are benefits to both and whichever you select for your team is completely up to you.

Benefits for Standard Teams

1. May induce Star players to help in games.

2. May Participate in "THE MARKET PLACE" feature in Blood Bowl 2

3. Receive an additional conceded "games" against the league test team (please see Training Camp and the Draft webpage under the resources menu) depending on the final placement of your team at the end of the season instead of draft picks.

Benefits for Mixed teams

1. May participate in "Free Agency" trading with other teams in the off-season.

2. May participate in the "Draft"

That said, after the teams start play, you CAN switch back to a Standard team from a Mixed team using the custom team/experienced team creator. You simply leave the league with your current team, and rejoin the league with the same team name (place an additional "space" between your team name and you will be allowed to use the same name) and reallocate the skills you had to your new team. That said using this option REQUIRES you to rename all your players and carefully select the same skills to be the same from when you left the league. If everything does not exactly match (including team name) the original team must be re-registered back into the Dauntless Athletic League.

3. Submitting a League Logo/Icon

Once you create your team, you must submit team Icon or Badge that represents your team as seen in these examples from the home page.

The team icon will act as a button link to your team webpage (Much like the NFL Website), where you and other members of the league can take a look at your Team's roster, stats and replay history.

( To Note: the top left logo is linked to a "test team". Feel free click it to explore the individual team web pages.)

Please select a Team logo that represents your team, and any images that are in bad taste or are offensive will not be approved.

4. Team Names

As far as naming conventions goes, the coaches are strongly encouraged to select names that sound like professional sports organizations; be it in the real world or in the Warhammer universe.

The league retains the right to ask a coach to resubmit a team name if the submitted one is offensive, OR are simply not relatable in a professional sports sense or fluff wise.

The Dauntless Athletic League strives for an immersive and fantasy world sports atmosphere for all it's coaches to enjoy.

In a nutshell. Submit your team name in the following format.

(Location) (Noun)

or

(Adjective) (Noun).

( Note: Hey guys...It takes alot of work to create the website, make match reports and make the league feel immersive. While I don't want to limit anyone's rights, just know that any team named something ridiculous like "Ginger's Rape and Shine" or what not, that the DAL likely just isn't the league for you.)

Some famous Blood Bowl team names from the original league can be seen below from the if a coach needs inspiration.

5. Downloading Blood Bowl 2 Stats Grabber.

(Please see the "Getting Started with Blood Bowl 2 Stats Grabber" article for more information.)

6. Determining your seeding for the Inaugural Season.

As previously stated, the DAL will strive to place coaches whom are from the same former leagues and in similar time zones together to help encourage the likely hood of the DAL running smoothly, making games easier to be scheduled. That said, the league strives for balance in all divisions and amongst it's coaches,
