Salary Cap

Salary Cap & Foreign Player Cap

The Dauntless Athletic League actively encourages a fair and challenging field of play. As a dice game, we are aware sometimes things can get away from you early in the season, causing some teams to far exceed their peers in Team Value by the end of each season.

To combat this, the Dauntless Athletic League uses a “Salary Cap” under which each team's Team Value must be under at the start of each season.

The Salary Cap’s Team Value limit is determined prior to the start of the Off-Season and is pulled from the the median Team Value rating from 6 teams within the league, counting down from 3rd through 8th seeds in the play-offs, as Team-Value ranked in the In-Game standing (referred to as the as the League Power Poll.)

Those teams values are determined by the game reports from the end of their final games in the season as recorded in the Blood Bowl 2 Stats Grabber software.

(This is to avoid the temptation of coaches of “purging” their teams to drive the Salary Cap lower then it should be after they have been eliminated from the Post Season. )

The Team Value will take into effect, the current Team Value of each roster, plus the treasuries of the teams, as well as any Skill’s (level ups) that haven’t been taken (worth 20K apiece, as per the rules).

The average of TV for these six squads will be the Salary Cap in play for the start following season.

Each Season all teams are required to start with 11 players as a minimal requirement at the start of each season to participate in League play.

The Salary Cap is sadly necessary with the Blood Bowl 2 game, as the developer has hard-coded into the match making system that any teams that are more that 500 Team value in difference can never be matched (and without the challenge option available any longer; the game just wont ever start a match between the two teams in question)

FOREIGN PLAYER CAP

The Foreign Player Cap is the allotment of each participating team, from which players in the alliance of the team of the native race selected by the coach, is permitted to hire.

The cap is in place to allow racial variety and promote trade within the league in a sports sim manner, but also limit the complete chaos of an unregulated, unbalanced mixed team base league.

The Foreign player cap is 250,000 gold crowns for season one, and each season in a "era" after the first, the foreign player cap is 20% of the each seasons starting salary cap.
